When I went to SF, I was debating between renting an apartment for myself or going to 908 Coliving. I couldn’t be more grateful that I chose the latter. There’s an amazing community, and from the moment I set foot in the city, I already had a group of friends. During my time there, we shared so many experiences, hiking to Big Sur, bonfires on the beach, dinners, Mario Kart races… My experience would have been radically worse if I hadn’t chosen 908 as my home. The house is kept in perfect condition. The landlord, Josh, is part of the community, he lives there with the rest of us, makes sure everything is in top shape, and handles any issue at lightning speed. The coliving space also has professional cleaners who keep both the house and your room spotless. If you’re reading this review, and like me a few months ago, are deciding whether to find your own place or start your journey in the city at 908 Coliving, don’t hesitate. Living here is the best decision you can make!

Living here has made my summer one of the best experiences! With its diverse community, it’s a wonderful place to explore the non-tech side of San Francisco. Every day brings something memorable - funny conversations with your roommates, movie nights, or road trips. 908 Coliving adds fun, warmth, and connection for anyone coming to SF to work, live, or even just visit.

It’s a nice place! Great location, very safe. Fun events hosted by Josh. Flexible lease terms, furnished rooms, and cool chill people. Not suitable if you are a big cook. Overall a great place to live when settling into San Francisco and building a community

Living at 908 Coliving has been one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had in San Francisco. From the first day, it felt more like a welcoming home than just a place to stay, the community is incredibly diverse, thoughtful, and genuinely inspiring. Our landlord/friend Josh makes sure tthe house is kept spotless, the amenities are top-notch (yes, the sauna is real), and there’s always something happening, whether it’s group dinners, deep convos over coffee, or spontaneous adventures around the Bay. If you’re looking for a place that blends comfort, connection, and creativity, and a community that inspires you everyday, 908 is it.

if you’re looking for just housing, this isn’t it. you’re better off renting a room on airbnb. 908 is a bundled experience - curated for just you. a year ago, i was looking for a place to stay. i called josh, and the next day i moved in. affordable, instant, no multi-week application process. throughout the year, i’ve been constantly surprised by the people i’ve met, what they’re doing, and the stories they bring. small things you don't think about, that'll change your life. - weekly cleaning yep including your beddings and room - automated restocks (things like laundry detergent, condiments, toilet paper) - wifi, utils all of em paid. - oh and the sauna, i wish i had a picture of the in-house sauna. - cleanliness - massive W funniest part is that i've bumped into 908ers all over the world ~ in denver, los angels, japan. the bigger 908 grows, the bigger the 908 network will be, and i'm pumped to see that. tbh before i moved in, only thing i was worried about is the location. new to SF, you think everywhere is pretty dangerous. but russian hill is one of the safest neighborhoods you'll find. 908 brings experiences that can't compile into the generic term housing. if YC is an accelerator for startups, 908 is an accelerator for life. also shoutout to josh, he runs the world's highest rated coliving, but is the most down to earth guy i've ever met in my life. his attention to detail to curate an experience just for you deserves 10/5 stars. getting to meet noah IRL was a highlight. i've been following his work for years and he's casually around.

I had a wonderful experience living at 908 Coliving! It was my first time in the US, traveling alone, and my first experience with colivings. From the start, the owner was extremely supportive and always quick to respond to any questions I had. The building looks exactly like the photos on the website: clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The neighborhood around 908 Coliving is also very quiet and safe, and perfectly located to explore the city. I often walked around alone, even at night, and always felt completely safe. I stayed in a shared room that was bright and spacious, and I couldn’t have asked for a better roommate match. I loved ending my days chatting and sharing stories, which made the place feel even more like home. The community atmosphere was truly special: everyone was welcoming and kind, and I made real friendships during my stay. I highly recommend 908 Coliving to anyone looking for a safe, friendly, and cozy place to stay in San Francisco!

I have been living in 908 for a little over three months now. I’ve recently decided to move from a single room to a shared room to reduce my rent, so it feels like a good juncture to write a review. I have been quite pleasantly surprised by 908. I was not expecting to stay here more than a few months, but within weeks I started to feel like this was my home. Josh is a committed and caring house manager who goes above and beyond to make living here a positive experience. The space itself is also really nice, with lots of natural light in both of the rooms I’ve stayed in (5 and 11) and twice-weekly cleaning service included in rent. The neighborhood is also awesome - both cute and safe, with walkable access to Polk Street, Chinatown, and North Beach. A pretty classic San Francisco experience if that’s what you’re looking for. The rent is quite expensive for a shared space, but I honestly think it’s worth it given the neighborhood and amenities provided (utilities included; shared kitchen supplies including spices, cooking oil, tea, and coffee; paper products and soap; in-house laundry with detergent; cleaning service including sheets and towels). Before moving in, I was a bit nervous about the kitchen, but it has been totally fine. We have a 2-burner hotplate and a countertop oven which pretty much get you as far as you need to go with normal cooking needs. Many people in the house don’t use the kitchen or use it at odd hours, so there is not usually high demand to use the appliances. There is also an air fryer, microwave, hot water dispenser, water filter, and ice maker. The one thing to be aware of is that roommates in shared rooms share a fridge shelf. That is not a lot of space! That said, there is a shared fridge for use by all residents for overflow items (and Josh said he’d get another one if we needed it…). The bathrooms also tend to stay quite clean and there are 9 of them for 16 people so there’s never really a wait for those either. Overall, the social vibe these past few months has been really nice. There is a good mix of longer-term and shorter-term residents, so there’s been some continuity with the opportunity to meet new people as well. A lot of the people who live here are in the tech/startup world, but I’m an arts/theater person and have not felt like that’s been an issue. The gender ratio has also improved, and about half of us in the house are women/non-men. There are quite a few international folks here which is good vibes as well. Everyone is very welcoming. I feel like even though I’ve only known these people for a few months, we are on each other’s team. That’s a very nice thing to feel after moving to a new city. Thank you to 908 and Josh for making this a good home for me in San Francisco. I wasn’t sure how long I’d stay in the city, and 908 has definitely been a factor in wanting to stick around for a bit longer!

About a year ago, I was in your shoes–reading these reviews and wondering if they were actually accurate. But I took a chance, and applied for my first coliving experience. A year later, I've spent my first year in SF at 908. And it was one of the best decisions I could have made. I could write an essay about all the great experiences I had here, but I'll save you the time and sum it up: it's worth it. If you’re new to the city, I genuinely don’t think there’s a better place to move in and feel like you have a welcoming home to come back to everyday.
