I had an amazing time living at ALTA+ for the last three years. The proximity to the train station, rent-stabilized, responsive management team, amazing/friendly front desk staff, top amenities (you get the typical gym, indoor pool, golf simulator, lounge and BBQ. Group fitness classes. Tons of community events. Great value vs other LIC buildings) Very smooth move in and move out experience. No package loss. Food/insta cart/weee delivery to the door. The trash room is cleaned daily and I was very lucky that all my neighbors had good manners — didn’t trash the trash room. The studio I lived in is very very spacious. Higher floor with an unbeatable Manhattan view with in unit washer/dryer. I was initially worried about the noise, but the double or triple panel window proved me wrong. I can’t hear anything when the window is closed. Highly recommended ALTA+ to anyone who needs to daily commute to Manhattan. Big shoutout to Chris and Brandon!!

I lived here for 2.5 years. Overall, the living experience is good. The area is close to the train station. The management team, doorman, and the maintenance people are very responsive. However, I wanted to raise the big issue about the transition of the property. The building co-living part was previously managed by Commons. Later on, Dermont took over the whole building. Even when I was still during my co-living lease with Alta, the management shorted our lease period out of blue. I was supposed to end my co-living lease in October but had to resign the single lease in May (5 months earlier) with a higher rent. Me and my roommate pays our rent separately previously. When we signed the single lease, the management was not transparent about the rent issue they faced from my roommate. I was later on be informed that my roommate has not been paying her rent each month diligently. It ended up with the fact that now I have to move out the building because my roommate's rent issue. Despite my consistent and timely rent payments, the lack of communication and the mismanagement of my roommate's payment issues have put me in an unfair position. This has caused significant inconvenience and stress, ultimately leading to my move-out. I hope that in the future, the management will take steps to ensure smoother transitions and clearer communication with tenants to avoid similar issues. Overall, while my experience living here had many positive aspects, the handling of this situation has been a significant drawback.

I lived here for over 3 years and it has been a great experience. The common area is clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed working out and using the pool. Events were well planned and always a new experience. The front door staff are so kind, shout out to Chris, Brandon and Linda. The management staff were very helpful explaining the entire move-out process. Overall, would recommend this apartment complex to all of my friends.

UPDATE: New building management day reach out in a timely fashion to have me elaborate on these existing concerns as well as some other others. The Wi-Fi is visible in the public spaces now and they do have the remotes living somewhere that is easy to access by all residents. Because the Wi-Fi has been fixed, that also means there is accessible service on all the televisions. They have adjusted the air on the rooftop to be regulated with the freezing temperatures that are outside, so it’s no longer freezing upstairs and people are able to use the space comfortably. They also have increased the number of community based activities this year. It’s only February now but so far there seems to be more frequency and those do you have good atmosphere, consistent execution. They’re curating the space and the vibe for people to meet and mingle and just shape the community of the building, which is great. This is a thing that is lacking in New York City in a number of residential buildings, multiple people I’ve talked to said that was drawing factor to moving here vs the rest of the neighborhood and they hope to see more of it. Gym is consistently clean and well maintained. The gym instructor is like so positive and so helpful and the class is enjoyable - despite leaving you sore the next day. All in all is actually feels really good to be heard as a resident and management be responsive. ————————————————————— The straw that broke the camels back tonight really was being on the roof again and the heat not being on even though it is the dead of winter - calling the front desk to get the heat turned on to be told the key is not on site because the handyman is not on site and the heat can only be adjusted in the daytime. HowSwayHow. They advertise third spaces as communal spaces to balance out multiple junior suites that do not have living rooms. However, + hundreds of dollars if you want to have more than one guest in any communal space. 1:1 ratio While apart of the fees are for access to “activities” they may host 1 per month with very limited available. Very inconsistent however, when they do execute on average, the events are like a 8/10 Gym is great/fine 2nd floor work area & rooftop opens for only limited hours even though they are predominantly indoor spaces. The rooftop while TV are advertised they have not been usable for 6+ months as they don’t have a remote or any other access. WiFi and cellphone service in general is also spotty/shotty on roof Management will answer only fractions of email questions, comments or concerns. Often not timely Ugh, the price is fine but management of these things could be better. Dermot can you do better?

The new management is just awful. They change conditions whenever they feel like without sending notice. I lost access to the amenities after I used them the same month. I asked for a DEFECTIVE furniture that belongs to the building to be taken out off my room and they refused and gave me bizarre excuses about why they can’t to it. Overall very disappointed and would recommend anyone that’s considering to look somewhere else.

The new leasing and management team is unresponsive and when you do get in contact with them they are no help. They lost my lease and are threatening to evict me when my roommate leaves even though we signed two different contracts. The building and everyone else who works here is amazing but dealing with the new management team has been the worst experience I have had in all my years of renting.

Comedy night was an absolute blast! Huge thanks to Alta+ and Dermot for organizing these fantastic events for us. The lady serving drinks and snacks was exceptionally friendly, which made the evening even better. I really hope they keep hosting more events like this in the future!
