UPDATE: New building management day reach out in a timely fashion to have me elaborate on these existing concerns as well as some other others. The Wi-Fi is visible in the public spaces now and they do have the remotes living somewhere that is easy to access by all residents. Because the Wi-Fi has been fixed, that also means there is accessible service on all the televisions. They have adjusted the air on the rooftop to be regulated with the freezing temperatures that are outside, so it’s no longer freezing upstairs and people are able to use the space comfortably. They also have increased the number of community based activities this year. It’s only February now but so far there seems to be more frequency and those do you have good atmosphere, consistent execution. They’re curating the space and the vibe for people to meet and mingle and just shape the community of the building, which is great. This is a thing that is lacking in New York City in a number of residential buildings, multiple people I’ve talked to said that was drawing factor to moving here vs the rest of the neighborhood and they hope to see more of it. Gym is consistently clean and well maintained. The gym instructor is like so positive and so helpful and the class is enjoyable - despite leaving you sore the next day. All in all is actually feels really good to be heard as a resident and management be responsive. ————————————————————— The straw that broke the camels back tonight really was being on the roof again and the heat not being on even though it is the dead of winter - calling the front desk to get the heat turned on to be told the key is not on site because the handyman is not on site and the heat can only be adjusted in the daytime. HowSwayHow. They advertise third spaces as communal spaces to balance out multiple junior suites that do not have living rooms. However, + hundreds of dollars if you want to have more than one guest in any communal space. 1:1 ratio While apart of the fees are for access to “activities” they may host 1 per month with very limited available. Very inconsistent however, when they do execute on average, the events are like a 8/10 Gym is great/fine 2nd floor work area & rooftop opens for only limited hours even though they are predominantly indoor spaces. The rooftop while TV are advertised they have not been usable for 6+ months as they don’t have a remote or any other access. WiFi and cellphone service in general is also spotty/shotty on roof Management will answer only fractions of email questions, comments or concerns. Often not timely Ugh, the price is fine but management of these things could be better. Dermot can you do better?

The new management is just awful. They change conditions whenever they feel like without sending notice. I lost access to the amenities after I used them the same month. I asked for a DEFECTIVE furniture that belongs to the building to be taken out off my room and they refused and gave me bizarre excuses about why they can’t to it. Overall very disappointed and would recommend anyone that’s considering to look somewhere else.

The new leasing and management team is unresponsive and when you do get in contact with them they are no help. They lost my lease and are threatening to evict me when my roommate leaves even though we signed two different contracts. The building and everyone else who works here is amazing but dealing with the new management team has been the worst experience I have had in all my years of renting.

Comedy night was an absolute blast! Huge thanks to Alta+ and Dermot for organizing these fantastic events for us. The lady serving drinks and snacks was exceptionally friendly, which made the evening even better. I really hope they keep hosting more events like this in the future!

Living under Alta Management in Long Island City started out fine, but when new management took over (Common left and Dermot) to in January 2024, it quickly turned into a nightmare. After two months after they took over the new guys (Jennifer) informed me that my lease was suddenly void, and I was responsible for the entire apartment—effectively doubling my rent and leaving me to find tenants for the other rooms. Their approach was aggressive, unreasonable, and downright predatory. When I couldn’t fill the rooms, they bullied me into breaking my lease. To add insult to injury, they refused to return my security deposit, fabricating bogus charges and then ignoring my attempts to resolve the issue. They even claimed they’d refunded my deposit with fake screenshots, which was an outright lie. Alta Management is nothing short of a scam. They lure you in with seemingly good terms, only to trap you with shady practices and legal manipulation. If you’re considering living here, be warned—this management company has a history of mistreating tenants and will not hesitate to pull the same tactics on you. Avoid at all costs. I have voice recording of the guy doing my inspection, telling me how the new management were doing a number of illegal things with the new tenants and units, including harassment and bullying. If you google them, you’ll see Dermot has a history of doing this. They are absolute bullies , a lot of their staff has left and many tenants I knew from living there for 3- 4 years have told me the same thing. It seems like they are trying to do a cleanup job with current tenants.

Lived here 2+ years and will lost the pros and cons. Pros • Amenities - love the pool, the roof lounge, roof terrace, gym, view • Location - right above ERM and 6 min walk to 7NW. 10 min walk to court square. Every month or so there is something new opening up • Staff - the staff do an amazing job, love the guys at the desks, the place is always clean and they usually fix things the next day, the office people are pretty nice. Cons • Builders cut corners, things look very nice on the surface but living there you notice they didn't spend the money. • Elevators are not smart - long lines form because of how long elevators take a peak hours. Only 1 side has buttons • trash for the whole building is put to the curb • No kitchen exhaust, someone cooking stinky food will stink the whole floor • I believe the person complaining about the leaks. One day they came in my apartment cutting a hole in the wall looking for a leak, but it was patched the next day. Overall I like the building,

Me and my roommates applied for the apartment and paid for the application fee since July 7th. Since then, we have not heard anything from Alta, we have tried calling and and we got the same answer everytime: “we are experiencing high volume”. We have stated that we wanted to move in July 17th. Now it has been July 18th and still have not heard anything from the leasing team. They have promised us that they will process the application right away and keep the application under our name since we paid. However, it has been about 2 weeks. This has disrupted our current renting situation and we are very disappointed.
