Banana co-living is designed to provide an urban lifestyle and is where you'll be excited to call home. Banana Dongmen was a backpacking hostel. Now, it’s transformed into a co-living apartment that still has that care-free hostel vibe. Banana Dongmen is located in the center of Taipei, and yet it’s still easy to reach nature in Da’an park.

I was here for potentially renting a bed at the mixed shared dorm because its located near my school and i plan to stay in Taiwan for a little longer and thought of banana living as a good way to save money and time based on location and rent and it looked very clean on the pictures. When i had the room viewing i was greeted by the staff although she was polite and showed me around. I reacted though that she was wearing flip flops and adidas shorts which personally did not find very fitting since she represents banana living. When she guided me around the building i noticed how tourned the interior is and the there is very bad smell that can be smelled from all the rooms inside the building. The mixed dorm had very moist, yet foul smell, i could orange dark stains on the madrasses. I have never lived at this area so it is hard to give honest review. But i felt that i had to write this one because the reason why i did not choose to live at banana living is because the rooms/beds they are renting does not like the ones in the pictures on their website.

Stayed here for a bit over a month - great location near the heart of Taipei City, nice facilities, and excellent roommates. Renting from the landlords was a pleasure - they were incredibly accommodating to me when my length of stay changed - couldn’t ask for more.

Beds were comfortable with power outlets, private light and curtain. I stayed in the 18 person dorm and my one issue was the ventilation. Taipei is a humid city with ever changing weather so the damp smell of 18 people can be a bit overpowering sometimes. The breakfast was ok, staff were reasonably friendly.

They organised a pick-up shuttle from the airport to the hostel for an affordable price. Nice stuff, cheap washing machines (30NT$ per wash) and everything else what a traveller needs is given. The 2 pax private room is clean, comfortable and comes even with aircon & towels. The only minus point is the bad noise insulation.

Small spaces for people travelling in 2s or 3s but very accommodating and helpful hosts; their free breakfast everyday may be simple, that of banana, bread and several breadfill types but its something i look forward to :)

Stayed here a week and it's a great place. Very laid back and informative staff, always there to help. Super clean beds and bathrooms. All you can eat bananas and simple but sufficient breakfast! Highly recommend.
