Feels like dorm life, but elevated. Would give 4.5 starts but google on mobile won’t let me so I’ll do 4. A good option for young working professionals or people looking to move to the LA area because it provides the essentials you need for a transition into a new life set up: - convenient locations: houses are located in highly desirable living areas with close access to stores and livable communities - meet new friends: most of the people who live in this house are trying to meet new people, coupled with the large number of people per house (10+) your chances are quite good. I’ve met amazing people here who I’m sure we’ll be friends for many years. Being in similar life stages makes it just easier to make friends, which is hard as an adult. - positive transition experience: the room is move in ready, there is a bed, comfortable mattress, and a desk. Every room has a bathroom and cleaning is included. Kitchen has basic essentials like dishes and cookware - coliving focused: houses are designed to have at least two common areas and are beautifully decorated; the kitchen was honestly the selling point for me, all their houses have excellent modern kitchens. In every house there is a house manager that plans events for the community, which makes experiences good and fun. However the involvement of managers seems to vary per house, with some doing events once every two months while others are more consistent. A social house makes up for less involved house managers and I’ve personally had very positive experiences hosting events and hanging out with my house mates. - bonus: if you plan hosting events and invite the house community there is some level of reimbursement, it doesn’t always happens but it’s very good that it’s offered, it means that the company is financially invested to support a positive coliving experience with events.just be sure to ask first Now, candid information you are looking for: - experience with Management, they are sometimes responsive to issues and sometimes not responsive. It is inconsistent, on par with any apartment situation. Not better or worse. They are trying to do better so I give them credit for that. This is typical with any renting situation, so do not expect an enhanced experience because you live in a house. - parking: most of the units are not designed with parking in mind, which is not a big deal if you don’t mind figuring out where to park your car for street cleaning. Secured parking is not included. - thin walls: might be our particular unit but prepare to hear everything. 📣This makes for funny situations but it a can also be a source of tea so it’s your choice if you wish to partake - manage your expectations around common spaces. Again this may be related to our house specifically but there is no authority set on who gets what in shared stored areas - like fridge space, cabinet space, laundry, and just like, spared spaces in general. You pretty much have to discuss it in the house like adults, which is fine if people are easy to talk to and have common sense. I definitely recommend people looking to move to LA or start a new life in LA to live in a Cohaus. Overall I’ve had a very positive experience and I would recommend it to my friends.

Cohaus is a truly exceptional coliving space that embodies the essence of communal living. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the strong sense of community that permeates every aspect of this beautifully designed space. The diverse group of residents, coupled with the attentive staff, creates an inspiring and supportive atmosphere where personal growth thrives. The shared spaces strike the perfect balance between comfort and style. With regular events and activities organized by the dedicated staff, Cohaus goes above and beyond to create connections and encourage collaboration.
