I’m a student from India and new here, but my experience with ECLA has been smooth and welcoming. Florida at the desk has been an absolute star – she guided me through everything with patience and clarity, making the entire process so much easier. She truly goes above and beyond for students, and I couldn’t have asked for better support. Big thanks to ECLA and especially to Florida for making the start of my journey stress-free!

Before moving in, I had to pay the reservation and all the fees without visiting the apartment, because that is the policy of this residence. On the phone, I was told that the studio would look exactly like the pictures on their website. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was shocked to see that my apartment was in a very bad condition and nothing like the pictures. The bed has a strong unpleasant smell that makes it impossible to sleep on, even after trying to clean it. The kitchen is in a poor state, with damaged furniture, and I also noticed a lot of ants around the sink, probably due to the broken wood. The bathroom floor is also in bad condition. I reported these issues immediately and asked for urgent repairs or a change of apartment. Someone from the staff came to check the apartment after I insisted at the reception, but since then I haven’t received any follow-up, no email, and no confirmation of any solution. I did receive a generic reply from the residence, telling me to contact a certain email, but despite emailing them multiple times, I never received any real response. It’s been 10 days, and I’m still stuck in an apartment that is not livable in its current condition. And there’s this random noise that doesn’t stop and I don’t know the source of it 😩. I am sharing this review with photos (except for the smell, which is of course not visible) so that future residents know the reality of my experience. I really hope the management will take action and provide real solutions quickly.

My experience at this place was wonderful. The staff were pleasant and our room was super clean. The area was very safe and clean. I love the social atmosphere. However, I only provided 4 stars because my parents accidentally booked the room for 2. Our family of 4 (including me) was visiting from the U.S. My sister and I had arrived at the hotel several hours before my parents. I was shocked that the front desk staff only asked for the booking confirmation and did not ask for our passports. That is a serious safety issue. Even when we checked out, they did not ask for our passports. It's scary that I was able to let my parents come into the room without them knowing. I just worry about the safety of other people, especially with human trafficking transpiring around the world.

I rarely write reviews, but in this case I feel it is necessary to warn future students about this residence. I stayed here for three months, from September to December 2024, before moving to a better accommodation. The price/quality ratio is shockingly poor compared to the accommodations nearby. The rent is extremely high, yet the service provided is essentially non-existent. What makes matters worse is the handling of the deposit. My deposit of around €900, which should have been returned within a maximum of two months, was withheld for seven months. It was only after legal intervention from a lawyer that I finally received it back. I know for a fact that several other residents experienced the same unacceptable treatment. This is not a mistake or an exception; it is a deliberate practice.

I stayed five months in ECLA from January 2025 to June. Everything practical about my stay was ok. The common areas are kept reasonably clean and the general safety of the Residence is ok. It's very pricey but still acceptable if compared to other residences in or around Paris. However, the management is completely inadequate and inefficient. I had tons of problems, some of which haven't yet been solved. There was a miscommunication problem between my booking platform and ECLA which resulted in me having to book an emergency stay because my contract hadn't been extended. They basically kicked me out of my room in less than 12 hours. This costed me a lot of money and ECLA was not able to provide a solution, they wanted me to spend more than 1000 euros to stay two weeks in a Hotel Accomodation. They couldn't extend my contract or find an equal or inferior accomodation for my remaining period. I had to find an Airbnb autonomously. None of the monthly payments produced a receipt, meaning non of those are properly tracked and I can't get them discharged in my country. They miscalculated the amount of money they owed me from the deposit, stating that it was me to owe them over 1000 euros, while they actually owed ME 300. They wanted to charge me 600 euros of "file processing fees" while it was actually clearly stated in my contract that I didn't have to pay those. After over two months from the end of my stay, they still owe me 300 euros, which I asked for many times. They started stalling, thelling me something about a software being changed, that the payment has been reissued. Nothing has yet happened. I forgot to tell that many times, electricians and workers enter the rooms without authorization and nothing can be done about it. Another annoying factor is having to pay for everything. The laundry, both parkings. It is not included in the rent. If you want to have your bedsheet washed, that's between 30 and 50 euros. When doing the checkout, they will always find something to charge you for, no matter how clean and well kept is the room. The total cleaning fee at my checkout was 130 euros (on a 880 euros deposit, which i still havent received back) So, from the practical point of view, the Residence is acceptable, rather clean, safe, good position if you want to get in Paris fast. But every administrative procedure was stressful, unpractical, borderline scam. Also, keep in mind that there are some positive reviews about a staff member named Florida. She is snatching phones from people with an excuse and leaving positive reviews about her. I was told that they would all be removed but nothing has happened yet. I will never again search for accomodation through ECLA and i will highly recommend other people to seek it elsewhere.

Stayed here for one night while on a business trip. I hadn't realized while booking that this was a sort of student residence, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, check-in staff were kind, and it was close to a supermarket and the train station. The only downside was the massive queue for check-in, and the card they gave me initially didn't work, which meant I had to go back and forth with my luggage. Fortunately, they fixed it quickly and I didn't have to queue again.

Have multiple friends staying here in long term contracts. I had to stay here for 4 nights in the hotel building part of the residence. The place is nice, new clean and overall great atmosphere. Only problem is sometimes there is a lack/delay of maintenance. This could get frustrating especially when we’re talking about things like dryers/ washing machines and kitchen related machines. The price for the residence is a little bit off a room under 20 M2 for almost 1000€… ( at my time , they do offers from time to time to fill up empty rooms)
