If I could give 0 stars to this company I would. I lived in 3 different residences for over a year in Montreal: McGill Ghetto, Gramercy and Summerhill. I'll be straight forward, I cannot believe how any of their operations are legal. For starters, their cheaper rooms are that price for a reason. There are rooms without an even actual wall but PVC wall panels (plastic) and a plastic door without any lock (which when living with complete strangers is a minimum). This brings me to my second point, even though their agreement CLEARLY STATES the maximum amount of people allowed to live in the apartment I experienced multiple people living/staying in a one person room. Additionally, it appears as there's no background checks of the kind of people they are leasing to some of the times not even being other students. On another point, if you experience ANY kind of inconvenience do not expect to have any decent response from anyone of their team, they constantly change their team members for each residence (almost in purpose?) so if you have any issue none of them can help you or have to refer you to someone else. I had to ask FOR A YEAR for them give me a copy of the mail room key which I never received, and more than 8 months for them to be able to change a lightbulb in the bathroom, which might appear as an insignificant thing but when you're paying 900 CAD/ month for a 2 room apartment (and a fake room) that you share with 4 people you expect at least a minimum level of consideration. Lastly, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the lease agreement with them as they CONSTANTLY CHANGE IT to their convenience it took me a year and 6 months and 3 residence changes to be able to cancel my lease by "giving away" my initial deposit (ILLEGAL TO BE ASKED IN QUEBEC IN THE FIRST PLACE). And still to this day I receive emails from them saying I owe them money when I have clear confirmation from their team stating my lease was cancelled. Overall, just save yourselves the headache of getting involved with this company. They take advantage of international students not knowing the local leasing regulations or having any contact in these cities to scam you into an agreement.

Honestly, even if you have to stay somewhere temporarily or sleep on a friend’s couch, do not sign a lease with this company. If you value your privacy, safety, and basic respect, I strongly recommend not renting with Harrington Housing. Their agent Arish Yaseen showed extremely unprofessional, intrusive, and disrespectful behavior from the start. He repeatedly told me that I must stay home during the day so he could show my room to new clients. When I said I wasn’t home and had work, he replied: “I have the key, I will enter your room myself.” This is a clear privacy violation and made the environment feel completely unsafe. On top of that, he constantly made “court” threats that were honestly more ridiculous than serious, but they clearly showed the level of unprofessionalism I was dealing with. The unit itself was poorly equipped — almost no proper dishes or kitchen tools, and whatever was there was old, broken, or unusable. Very far from what they advertise. Getting my security deposit back was another long struggle. It took nearly a month of ongoing follow-ups because nobody responded or took responsibility. The lack of communication and accountability is shocking for a company that claims to offer quality housing. Overall, the experience was stressful, unsafe, and highly unprofessional. I strongly advise avoiding Harrington Housing.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with Harrington Housing. I recently moved to Halifax and sought their services. The whole house was messed up. The kitchen smelled so badly. Upon that, once I got the keys, none of the Coordinators replied back for any questions. I even got the fob a week later. Within a week, I tried to cancel my lease. However, I was told I still need to pay the 2nd month's lease as their dumb cancelation policy. It doesn't end here, there was a mouse in my room. I tried calling and texting the Coordinator, but he never got back to me. I couldn't even unpack my stuff and had to keep my entire bags packed and closed. I paid way more for one month of stay. The support system of their is of no use. Its only for presence. I highly recommend use market place instead if you want to save money. I hope I wouldn't have signed for their services.

I had a beyond wonderful experience with Harrington Housing. Sam, in particular, was exceptionally helpful in making my experience seamless and easy. He guided me during the tour of the property, was prompt and efficient in responding to inquiries and made sure I had no difficulties in the booking process. I would highly recommend Harrington Housing to anyone looking for accommodation. Wonderful service, beautiful rooms and property.

I recently visited Harrington Housing, and it was a great experience. Lily was welcoming and took the time to answer all my questions, which made me feel comfortable right away. The building was clean, modern, and well-maintained, and I liked how the rooms were thoughtfully designed to give students both privacy and a sense of community. I also appreciated the range of amenities and the convenient location. Overall, my visit was very positive and gave me confidence that Harrington Housing would be a great place to live and stud

The rooms and common areas are clean (depends on your roommates) and well-furnished. The residence is close to Sherbourne subway. There’s also a well-equipped gym and laundry, which makes it a great place to feel comfortable. Some rooms, including mine, have beautiful views of Toronto and the CN Tower. The staff, especially Olga and Raymond, are always helpful. If you have any problems with the apartment, they will fix it quickly. A big thanks to Olga and Raymond for making my stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend it!

There's a lot to state here. Incompetence, and suspicious. I was in communication with them about a room since October 19th thereabouts, and it was going good. I wanted the room for December but I was told if they get someone before then, they'd give it out. I understand that, it's only business. However, one of their agent told me someone was gonna move out December from the other room (This is the Welsford apartment) and by January it was going to be available. This was my response on October 23rd: 'Sounds great to me. If they plan to move by end of December, I can book for end of December or start of January, If that is okay with you. All I want is a comfortable space at Welsford. Secondly, I thought you have a same gender policy for your apartments too? If it's ok by you, we can move the conversation to my WhatsApp.' Prior to this, I requested for an in-person tour, which is a service available. It was scheduled for today, 1st November, however, nobody came, they keep pushing it around. When I sent a mail to them, they told me 'the reason they couldn't make it is that the room isn't available, even for January'. I was shocked. How is that possible, if I had booked? The response I got was because I wanted an in-person tour. (Note, this room is still occupied by the people said to leave by December). First, I wasn't kept in the schedule for the tour. Secondly, they disregarded my messages. And they didn't even send me a message about it not available any longet. This is outrightly tarnishing the image of the agency and I was referred! I'm so livid right now!😡

I’m writing this review as a current tenant who just received an “urgent” email from Harrington Housing telling me that I have to either relocate or vacate my unit at 88 Pembroke St with only one week’s notice even though I still have two full months left on my lease. This is completely unacceptable and shows a shocking level of disregard for tenants’ rights, time, and basic decency. Harrington is claiming that the landlord decided not to renew their master lease and is forcing every tenant to leave by early November, even though they’ve legally rented these units out to us through December. There was no prior warning, no proper notice period, and no attempt to negotiate or assist tenants responsibly. Instead, they sent a cold, generic email with a “relocate or terminate” ultimatum, as if uprooting people’s lives on short notice is a minor inconvenience. What’s worse is that they are trying to make this sound like they’re doing us a favor by “offering relocation options.” But the reality is this is a mass eviction disguised as a relocation offer. Many of us planned around our leases jobs, studies, and budgets and suddenly being told to leave with barely any time to find a new place in Toronto’s rental market is beyond stressful and unprofessional. If you’re thinking about renting from Harrington Housing, beware. Their business model clearly prioritizes their convenience and profit over any respect for tenants. Communication is impersonal, and their promises of “smooth transitions” mean nothing when they can unilaterally void your housing security. I expected at least transparency, empathy, and fair notice. Instead, I got a last-minute eviction email. I wouldn’t recommend Harrington Housing to anyone who values stability or accountability.
