If I could give negative stars, I would. This company is extremely unprofessional and misleading. I was shown a 3-bedroom apartment, but on moving day I was placed in a 4-bedroom unit with only 1 shared bathroom. At that point, you have little choice but to accept what you’re given. Communication is nearly nonexistent; calls and emails go unanswered. My deposit has still not been returned, despite the stated 21-business-day processing time. However, if you are even a day late on rent, they are quick to escalate matters to the Tenant Board. The urgency only seems to apply when money is owed to them; not when they owe tenants. The unit itself was poorly maintained, dark, and overcrowded. Two of the bedrooms appeared to be makeshift additions. Do not be misled by the photos or initial viewing. What is presented is not what you necessarily receive. Proceed with extreme caution. UPDATE Thank you for your response. However, I would like to provide further context. For five months, I repeatedly requested a room change due to ongoing concerns. Those requests went unresolved. Ultimately, I felt forced to terminate my one-year lease early, which required me to forfeit my $1,095 security deposit while also paying for my final month. That was not a decision taken lightly. Regarding communication, the stated 24-hour response time does not reflect my experience. I emailed and texted representatives over a week ago about the refund and received no response. This key deposit refund was only escalated after I left a public review out of frustration. That should not be the catalyst for action. While you mention internal process improvements, the reality is that these issues directly impacted my living situation and finances. The discrepancy between expectations presented during the showing and the actual placement significantly affected my experience. I appreciate that the refund has now been processed. However, the overall handling of my tenancy caused unnecessary stress and discomfort. I hope future tenants experience the improvements you’ve described.

Living at Harrington was one of the worst experiences of my life. There is absolutely no guarantee that you will be placed with a respectful or rule-abiding roommate. If your roommate is loud, disrespectful, or constantly breaking house rules, do not expect management to meaningfully intervene. I reported repeated noise issues, inappropriate behavior, and ongoing disturbances. Nothing was properly resolved. Instead, the problematic tenant’s contract was extended multiple times. It became very clear that profit matters more than residents’ safety or mental well-being. If you try to move out because your living situation becomes unbearable, you may face penalties and risk losing your deposit. The “flex rooms” offer almost no real privacy — they are essentially divided spaces. If you end up with the wrong person, you can feel trapped in your own room. I would strongly advise anyone considering Harrington to think very carefully before signing a contract

If I can 0 stars...Just judge by the photos, avoiding some of them because they are so gross... 4 people in two bedroom apartment and 1 bath... really????? The most worst experience.... Mix one girl and 3 boys when you asked to share with just girls.... Please international students be aware and do not fall in this horrible please. You can find a nice condo with the same price in market place on FB or other place. Ask your university or college recommendations.

I have been a tenant with Harrington Housing for over a year, and unfortunately my experience has been very disappointing. From the beginning, I faced multiple issues such as room-related problems and leakage. Whenever I tried reaching out through calls or emails, responses were either extremely delayed or completely ignored. Even when issues were acknowledged, it often took a week or more to resolve them. I remained patient throughout my stay and rarely complained, trying to be understanding. However, my recent experience was the final straw. I was originally supposed to vacate this month, but due to a sudden change in plans, I extended my stay for one month, which was communicated and completed only this week, and the updated payment was reflected in my tenant portal. Despite this, I received a message from a representative from the finance department stating that my payment was late and demanding immediate payment, without taking the time to listen to my explanation or review the updated details. The tone and approach were extremely unprofessional and dismissive. There appears to be a serious lack of coordination and communication between departments. Tenants’ concerns are often ignored, but when the company needs something, the approach becomes aggressive and disrespectful. After being a patient, responsible, and timely-paying tenant throughout my stay, this was very disappointing. I strongly do not recommend Harrington Housing due to poor communication, slow issue resolution, and unprofessional treatment of tenants.

Everything from the building entrance to the room and the gym facilities is perfect. The overall experience can vary depending on your roommates’ habits and cleanliness, but in my case, I’m very satisfied now. I changed my room once, and if I ever return as a traveler or a graduate student after going back to my home country, I would definitely choose to stay here again. Wishing you continued success!

If I could give 0 stars to this company I would. I lived in 3 different residences for over a year in Montreal: McGill Ghetto, Gramercy and Summerhill. I'll be straight forward, I cannot believe how any of their operations are legal. For starters, their cheaper rooms are that price for a reason. There are rooms without an even actual wall but PVC wall panels (plastic) and a plastic door without any lock (which when living with complete strangers is a minimum). This brings me to my second point, even though their agreement CLEARLY STATES the maximum amount of people allowed to live in the apartment I experienced multiple people living/staying in a one person room. Additionally, it appears as there's no background checks of the kind of people they are leasing to some of the times not even being other students. On another point, if you experience ANY kind of inconvenience do not expect to have any decent response from anyone of their team, they constantly change their team members for each residence (almost in purpose?) so if you have any issue none of them can help you or have to refer you to someone else. I had to ask FOR A YEAR for them give me a copy of the mail room key which I never received, and more than 8 months for them to be able to change a lightbulb in the bathroom, which might appear as an insignificant thing but when you're paying 900 CAD/ month for a 2 room apartment (and a fake room) that you share with 4 people you expect at least a minimum level of consideration. Lastly, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the lease agreement with them as they CONSTANTLY CHANGE IT to their convenience it took me a year and 6 months and 3 residence changes to be able to cancel my lease by "giving away" my initial deposit (ILLEGAL TO BE ASKED IN QUEBEC IN THE FIRST PLACE). And still to this day I receive emails from them saying I owe them money when I have clear confirmation from their team stating my lease was cancelled. Overall, just save yourselves the headache of getting involved with this company. They take advantage of international students not knowing the local leasing regulations or having any contact in these cities to scam you into an agreement.
