staff is not that friendly,, a lot of noise from the streets around the place. pillow was too hard and not comfy. there was no adequate heating system during our stay. Be aware: Check in is at 4pm, but check out already at 11 am. that's just not okay as you have to pay full for a 19 hours stay only and we had the feeling they just waited that you left early.

“We booked two rooms at the Zollhaus Guesthouse for several days. Since different business associates were using the rooms during a trade fair, we requested a change of bed linen and towels each time. Unfortunately, this didn't work out: when we arrived in the evening, the bed hadn't been freshly made and there were no towels. The reception was closed and no one was available. Luckily, the staff at the bar in the building were kind enough to provide us with dish towels to dry ourselves after showering. When we called the next day and asked for a change of bed linen and towels, we were told that room service had already finished, it was no longer possible, and that they didn't change the bed linen daily for sustainability reasons. At least there were fresh towels in the bathroom in the evening – the bed hadn't been made. Mistakes can happen, but better service to guests would be appropriate. What a shame!”

Great room and guesthouse design and a central location. Easy night-time access via key box. There is quite some noise from the tramway, though, and you want to keep the windows closed (which is possible thanks to passive air conditioning). You can have a Mediterranean breakfast in the restaurant Bebek on the ground floor, but not if you’re up early, as they only open at 8am.

So this is what is called budget accomodation in Zürich 😁 spotless clean, modern, coopérative, ecological, social, with a giant garden and a local organic shop and an amazing restaurant inhouse. In the very heart of Zürich. Really difficult to find a better option.
