Quite a small station, but great for travel to local, smaller stations whilst also offering a direct line to London Waterloo to allow for transfers and connections to other mainline services.

CAMBERLEY Railway station is in the town of Camberley in Surrey, England. It is on the Ascot to Guildford line, 35 miles from London Waterloo. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by South Western Railway. Opened in 1878 by the London and South Western Railway (when it was known as Camberley & York Town), the station gained a second platform fifteen years later when the line through here was doubled. The route was electrified by the Southern Railway on 1 January 1939. All services at Camberley are operated by South Western Railway using Class 450 EMUs. The typical off-peak service is two trains per hour in each direction between Ascot and Aldershot. During the peak hours, the station is served by two morning services that continue beyond Ascot to London Waterloo via Staines as well two evening services from London Waterloo. On Sundays, the service is reduced to hourly in each direction and eastbound services are extended beyond Aldershot to Guildford. The signalling is controlled by a rail operating centre in Basingstoke after the massive Feltham re-signalling project undertaken by Network Rail

Annoying that so very few trains go direct to London, you must almost always go via Ascot. However, service is regular, and it has a part-time staffed office with waiting room which you don't always get at other nearby stations. There's also a cafe attached to the station building. Small car park but it's reasonably priced.

There is a ticket machine and the occasional direct train to/from London but still takes over an hour. Trains sometimes leave early which can be annoying and this station is often unstaffed.

Station has only 2 platforms. Quite small. Main exit is closed on Sunday when I had visited so an alternative have be taken. Same goes for platform 2. On entering for platform 2, don't take the stairs, there's a small enternace just behind the stairs.

Absolutely terrible, i commuted here for years, why does it not directly go to London? Why are the trains never running on time? Why in the 21st century do we have a service and trains like this? (clue: it rhymthes with the 'gories')
