I booked this place because it had pretty good reviews but unfortunately I did NOT have a good experience here. The only pros are that it’s in a good location and some of the staff are nice and helpful. Aside from that, the beds were dirty (sheets/pillowcases/blankets/literally all of it) - I had to switch my bed to a different one and that one was dirty too. Additionally, the hostel rooms were freezing cold. I actually got super sick while I was staying here and it’s in part due to the fact that there’s no heat here. Cherry on top is that I found a BUG in my BED!! And it was ALIVE!!! I nearly had a heart attack, I was so scared of it being a bedbug. In addition to all this, I found the hostel to be quite empty and not very social at all. I switched over to Viajero Bogota and I had a much better experience there, they have heat as well so you’re not freezing all the damn time like in Masaya. Id recommend the Viajero or any other place over this one unfortunately.

Amaizing hostel. Really enjoyed staying here. One star less for room because it was a bit narrow comparing with the same 4-bed dorms within the same Hostel chain "Masaya", and may be lockers/cupboards could be a bit specious. But aside from that, everything was perfect. Free coffee in the morning was a pleasant bonus. :)

I stayed for 2 weeks. The place is clean and super friendly. It's in the Candeleria district where many museums and attractions are. Masaya offered free dance classes twice a week. It's not a party hostel, but has a super friendly vibe. People chat in the courtyards. You can cook in the kitchen or eat in the restaurant. Excellent food cooked from local ingredients - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Ender was my favorite chef, although they were all wonderful. He made sure my dietary restrictions were respected, and he was just a happy-go-lucky guy. I found everyone was glad to have me there and made me feel right at home. Highly recommend the hostel and the restaurant. Shout out to Gabriel who also took good care of me.

Great hostel very well located in the center of La Candelaria. Rooms are spacious and clean, the shower has hot water and good water pressure. The breakfast is amazing, there are many choices to pick from and Martica is a great chef, everything is yummy. All the staff is super nice, especially Gabriel who brings joy and energy during breakfast hours.

The staff was very kind and the area was pretty and safe! The bathroom was regularly cleaned, the beds were not that clean but it was okay. The hostel kitchen wasn’t good equipped and bit dirty. They don’t have a good chill area ( only 1 sofa). one area is outside but Bogotá is quite rainy. But overall absolutely okay!

I really like it here. The food is really good and fair priced. The showers and bathrooms are very clean. Our beds weren’t completely clean so only 4 stars but it wasn’t too bad. We would still come here again and will recommend it to others. Also the area around the hostel is really nice and you feel safe. We also saw the Viajero Hostel when we were walking through town and felt like the area there is less pretty.

Spent a total of more than a week here, for many reasons. The place is spotlessly clean. The beds are insanely comfortable, the dorms are spacious, the bathrooms are hygienic and the showers have hot water!! The staff is super friendly, the food at their restaurant tastes amazing and their menu del dia is only 18k. I would definitely recommend staying here when you’re in bogota!
