The location of the hotel is great, right in front of Hamburg-Harburg train station. There isn't a dedicated parking place just for the hotel (as far as I'm aware), but we were able to park our car in front of the train station. The room was clean, but the location of the power outlets could be improved (some are difficult to reach). The view at the back of the hotel is a very big (old) factory, which I didn't mind, because there's not much they can do about it. The paternoster lift adds something special to the hotel, and honestly it fits fairly well with the factory right next door. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is amazing as well. There's a self check-in (and check-out) on the ground floor, but you can find the reception on the fourth floor. The last point of improvement I have is the main entrance of the hotel. Apparently, you need to fill in a code when you arrive after 10pm, but instead of remembering the code, why can't you just open the door with your room card? Especially after a long day your mobile phone can run low on battery, which contains the code you need to enter the building. So your only backup is writing down the code somewhere.

My husband and I spent 10 days in a room with separate bedroom and balcony. Be aware that if you decide to take a room with a balcony, your view is the back lot of a factory that has trucks coming in and out of it during weekdays. We never heard them but the view was drab. Definitely do not recommend if you plan on traveling in the summer or during mild weather and want to sit outside. The employees had their smoking area just outside of our room which was a little awkward when I stepped out for some fresh air. The kitchen was modestly equipped. We missed the lack of coffee maker and toaster which we went out and purchased for our use while there. Check in was indeed a little glitchy and we ended up having to go to the 4th floor where reception is located and the friendly young woman helped us. The room and the hotel are very clean. The Paternoster was fascincating and fun to ride once I gathered up the nerve to try it. One of very few left in Germany. Location across from the train station was very convenient. A week pass to ride all public transport in Hamburg is 29 Euro. Unfortunately the bus depot next to the train station is closed for constrution for the next two years. Plenty of shopping nearby (about a block). Parking was very easy at the P+R that is accessible on foot via the train station. 2 Euro per day. Large parking deck with plenty of spaces available. Parking closer is available at 14 Euro per day in the front of the train station (limited spaces) and in the Phoenix Center Parkhaus (only open from 8 am until 8:30 pm Mon-Sat) 15 Euro per day. I would definitely stay here again but in a room on a floor higher than 3. and facing southwest in the winter (for the most natural light) and northeast in the summer (no AC and it can get HOT in northern Germany!)

The room was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The bar views are fascinating. I stayed only for 1 night, I discovered that they offer apartments with balconies during my stay, enhancing the overall comfort of the experience.

We are a couple and a big German Shepard living in a standard room (approx 20 sqm, including bathroom). I'm studying, and my fiance is travelling a lot for work, so he is not here all the time. We are staying here for a longer term around 5 months, and this review has been written almost halfway through our stay. ***THE APARTMENT HOTEL*** Is very nice and cosy, beware that when you have to check in, the staffed reception is on the 4th floor. Also, here you find the Sky Lounge, where there is very cozy and nice. With nice colours, couches, a TV with Nintendo (free to use), and the Sky Lounge Bar. The bar has a nice selection of drinks and small dishes to a fair price. They just got a student discount, so that helps on it. The hotel offers different events, like decorating the christmas tree, Taco tuesday, which is nice, but they could promote it a bit more. It's not so clear on their homepage. In the sky lounge, there is also a place to work/study, and if one needs more clamness, the board room is also available and free to use. During the day the door is open for everyone, (up to the Sky lounge, need a keycard to get into the halls) and in the evening there comes a security man to check up on things, which is nice. *** LOCATION*** Harburg is the melting pot of cultures, so you will find yourself in a diverse area, with a lot of different cultures. In the beginning, if not used to, it can be overwhelming, but do not fear, I find it safe enough to walk around. On one side, right next to the hotel is the Pheonix Centre, which is very nice also. With a good selection of shops and a food court, nice for the days when I/we don't feel like cooking. Behind the hotel is Continental, which does produce a little noise during the day when the window is open, but nothing that is too loud. And the windows closed you can't hear them. ***THE ROOM** So the room is actually a fine size, nice and cosy. There is a nice size bathroom, with shower and soap (hand, body and hair) and lotion. In the room, you find a closet/storage in a nice size with open selves and rack to hang cloth (can be closed/covered by a curtain). We did go to IKEA to get an extra dresser for our clothes. Also is a small kitchen, with two stoves, a microwave oven, sink, refrigerator, small electric kettle, and some necessary cutlery. *** TRANSPORT *** The hotel is really well located, close to the Harburg Bhf. Which makes it very easy to get anywhere, with both reginal, S-bhan, and busses. It takes around 15-20 minutes into Hamburg Mitte with the S-Bahn. *** STAFF *** The staff in general is very nice and helpful. I have had the pleasure of Kai, who is a very sweet receptionist, and so very helpful, and my dog Zenta really just loves him. The house-keeping staff have been a bit afraid of my dog, but in general it's not a problem, there was one time, where there was some miscommunication about time, when we have agreed that they come for cleaning of the room, else nothing. As long as you keep respect that not everybody loves your dog, they also stay clear so you can pass them. Else the house-keep staff is also really nice and helpful. In general it feels that the staff is sweet, helpful and nice. ***CONCLUSION*** General is a nice place to stay, which is also pet friendly.

The staffs are nice, but their managers are not helpful and friendly at all! Update: their sound proof is so bad, I muss constantly deal with a lot of noises, from everywhere for god's sake (from the room next door to the one above you, I clearly hear their heavy shoe stepping on the floor, AND from the room cleaning service too, I mean every time the room next to mine gets to be cleaned, the furniture in my room literally shaking). The noises really get in my nerves. Maybe it's better for short stays, but I don't recommend this place for longer stays or if quietness is important to you.
