Perfect location, the hotel was very clean and peaceful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful – they responded to our requests immediately. For this price, it was excellent. So glad we chose Hotel Praktik Essens! 👍🏻

Great location - despite being in a busy area, rooms are quiet and peaceful. We had to leave before breakfast was served so I can't comment on that. We did go to happy hour which was a nice addition.

Spacious rooms, even the non-superior ones and clean. We had an issue with the AC, and it was resolved professionally by the management, no questions asked. Truly the best customer service we’ve experienced. Plus, there’s a happy hour every day. Great stay from start to finish. Don’t hesitate to book!

Spent three nights here during a recent trip to Barcelona. It was perfect for my needs, and I felt very comfortable as a solo female traveler. Location is top notch, centrally located but just a few steps down a brightly lit and well trafficked alley which makes the location very peaceful. Room was well decorated, comfortable, and clean. Arrived early after an overnight flight. I was able to use the lounge to collect myself before heading out for the day, while the very courteous desk staff stored my luggage. Would stay here again without hesitation.

We arrived in the middle of the night without pre booking. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was very comfortable and stylish. We had a fantastic stay and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

Hotel was a pleasant surprise. It was so beautiful! Can’t believe it’s only a 3-star boutique hotel. The rooms were very spacious, the staff were very courteous. Especially loved the happy hour at the lounge. Overall had a great experience at this hotel and highly recommend this place for those who wish to visit BCN. Hope to come back and stay here sometime soon.

Greetings, first of all, I must say, Essen is my favorite Hotel. I have always enjoyed my stay there. But, this time, I have a complaint. The mattress in room 301, is terrible, very uncomfortable, bumpy, and very hard. It's time it was changed. Paying €246 a night, should provide a good night's rest. Overall, everything else is great. We stayed at this hotel over a year ago, and I’m just now going back to review it because I’ve realized this hotel is what I’ll forever compare other hotels to. Simply sublime. The location is perfect, we felt right in the mix of Barcelona, close to restaurants, shopping, sites, and trains. Dare I say, we felt like locals?! Right in the alleyway by the entrance, there’s a lovely food hall, we almost didn’t want to venture out to other restaurants because the place next door was so lovely. Happy hour was amazing, staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was beautiful, compact, but thoughtfully laid out. The floor to ceiling doors opening up to our city view balcony, when closed, shut out every aspect of city noise, which is hard to find! We had such a great time in Barcelona, and looking back, a lot of that had to do with this hotel being perfect!
