Roomrs made my move to NYC so easy. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and everything was ready when I arrived. The customer service has been great—they always respond quickly and are really helpful. Overall, I’ve had a really good experience and would definitely recommend Roomrs to anyone moving to the city.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent experience with Roomrs. After paying my deposit and first month's rent, I moved into my room at 377 South 1st Street on August 7th. Upon arrival, I was shocked to find the room in an appalling condition, as evidenced by the attached photos. The bed had urine stains and flies, there were no linens, the walls were stained, the room was covered in dust, and it smelled strongly of smoke. A future roommate informed me that the room had not been cleaned since the previous tenant vacated it at least two weeks prior. Moreover, there were no chairs in the living room which have not being cleaned "for a while" and a sofa under the tv which should have not been there. The customer service I received was equally disappointing. When I reported the issue to Support (all the phone numbers found on the contract were useless), the agency did not cover my hotel expenses for those nights, citing a policy that offered an empty apartment in Williamsburg as an alternative. Given the circumstances and the inconvenience of moving with five pieces of luggage from Manhattan, along with my girlfriend who was visiting, I could not risk encountering a similar situation in another one of your properties. As a result, I had to pay for my own hotel accommodations and only received a $125 credit. I had expected a full reimbursement of the amount paid (over $3,400). However, Roomrs stated that only the deposit would be returned, as they offered "solutions" such as waiting for the room to be re-cleaned (which, upon my visit on August 10th, still had the soiled mattress) or moving to another, less suitable Roomrs location. Furthermore, despite my attempts to communicate promptly (including useless calls to Support and the Director of Operations who even blocked my phone number), I was informed that the full deposit could not be reimbursed because I would be charged for the 9 nights I would have theoretically stayed until I decided to terminate the contract, amounting to over $400. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS, but all I wanted is to get out from the contract as soon as possible and having to deal with them anymore. I strongly advise anyone considering moving to NYC to avoid this agency. My experience highlights the critical importance of personally visiting properties to avoid such unpleasant surprises.

Roomrs made my move to NYC smooth and stress-free. The leasing process was quick and efficient, and Jay was especially helpful and responsive whenever I needed assistance. While the experience can be roommate-dependent, I was fortunate to have great roommates who made the transition even better. The apartment was clean, fully furnished, and ready for move-in, which took a lot of pressure off the process. The monthly cleaning service was also a really nice perk that helped keep the space comfortable and low-maintenance. Overall, a positive and easy transition into city living—highly recommend!

Roomrs made moving to NYC way less stressful. The leasing process was super smooth—fast replies, clear info, and no hidden stuff. The apartment was clean, furnished, and ready to go when I arrived. Customer service has also been great. Anytime I needed help, they got back to me quickly and took care of it. Overall, really happy with the experience. Would definitely recommend if you’re moving to the city and want something easy and reliable.

I took an apartment unseen, but the room had several issues which made it uninhabitable for me. I raised this issue with the support team, and I received a response within a few business hours. A call followed a couple of hours later, and the support team then helped me transfer to a new room that day! Excellent service - big callout to Zack S for the hands-on assistance in resolving the issue incredibly quickly. I gave 4-stars because they may have a little bit of improvement to make regarding making sure the state of the rooms before move-in. But their support staff and responses are phenomenal!

- I was moving on a pretty quick turnaround and so didnt have anything prepared. No bed, apartment, household items, etc. Roomrs made super easy to transition into living in NYC and not having to worry about finding all these essentials right away. The process of signing up and finding a place was super easy and stress free. Overall, would highly recommend to anyone.

Using Roomrs made moving to New York incredibly easy. It’s affordable and especially ideal for students like myself, thanks to the flexible short-term lease options. Even though I was abroad during the leasing process, the team was super helpful and made everything smooth and hassle-free. I arrived straight from the airport and was able to enter the building without any issues. My room was clean, stylish, and fully furnished — which made settling in so much easier. Anytime I had a problem, customer service responded quickly and was always helpful. If Roomrs fits your lifestyle, I genuinely think it offers one of the best leasing experiences in New York. For anyone new to the city, I highly recommend it.

I used Roomrs so I would have an apartment for my final year of college and it was an interesting experience to live with people I've never met before. I lived in a 3 bedroom apartment and had 4 roommates in total. All my roommates were international so it was so fun to meet people from all over the world in different stages of their life. Roomrs was incredibly helpful in the process and would answer any complaints I had. I was in a great area and I loved being so close to everything in the city.
