COCK ROACHES!!! This place has SEVERE COCK ROACHES!! The apartment mngr/leasing agency only treats- the problem never goes away. The parking is very slim, especially now since the bar opened up. Not to mention the several times resident car windows are broke out and or shot out- monthly!! Residents have to pay for that out of pocket, Surge reality/Tacoma Flats does not help or care! There is a community kitchen w/ cameras however your FOOD WILL GET STOLEN-EVERY. DAMN. TIME. and nothing is done about it. There is no accountability. For the extreme housing costs in the area, these should not be EXTRA EXPENSES that us TENANTS have to deal with. Yes we are buying roach/pest control, on top of the extra food storage cost, and cost of food because it's inevitable that COCK ROACHES will get onto your microwave and fridge!! At the end of the day, if your desperate I get it however, at all costs AVOID THIS PLACE!!

In my experience with Tacoma flats. It could be a good stepping Stone in life. I have people that live there. And I'll visit frequently at least twice a month at those times the hallways are clean and quiet, the personal and staff are professional. The property manager is very professional and tenant oriented which I appreciate. So it is what you make it. "Some come into life with champagne taste and a forty ounce income." We strobbed for success, not land in it.

I’ve been living here for 1 1/2 years give or take. This is a fairly affordable place for those who are on a budget and don’t mind smaller housing options. Keep in mind that Tacoma Flats is a shared living space. Everyone has their own room with a bathroom and sink but no kitchen. There’s a mini fridge and microwave in room as well. Kitchen is shared downstairs and is very spacious with a tv room, games and laundry. Unfortunately there’s only street parking and sometimes you have to park in awkward places. My car has been chewed by street rats and got broken into by homeless ppl. This is downtown Tacoma so you’ll see a lot of that. I’ve learned to keep NOTHING in the car. There’s pros and cons. If you don’t have a car and use the bus, there’s buses everywhere in this location. Close to the Dome too. Anyway aside from the parking situation, street rats and car getting broken into, I’ve had no major issues in the last 1 1/2 years here. The neighbors around me aren’t noisy. Thank goodness cause you can definitely hear each other. I don’t contact management often because I’ve had no reason to. Rent just went up but it’s still manageable for me. They keep the shared areas clean with housekeeping 5 days a week. All in all 4 ⭐️ out of 5 for the affordable living, you get what you pay for situation.

Tacoma Flats is a great and affordable option for studios in the area. The rooms can come partially furnished and are clean and updated for such an old building. While the hallways can be tight, the common areas are very large and quiet. Jessica runs the office and is a literal angel. I know if I have any questions or concerns they will be answered swiftly and effectively. She really is the sweetest. The building is very secure and equipped with cameras. The parking can be a little tricky, but overall honestly not bad to deal with on the daily. Overall this is a great place for an individual, a great transitional option, or just a great place to save money.
