We had planned to stay at a Thatch apartment in South Boston for May 2024, however, our plans abruptly changed and we had to modify our trip. The team at Thatch went above and beyond to work with was - they were kind, understanding, and accommodating. Many thanks to Thatch! They will be our first place to stay next time we are in Boston.

again, got mice coming out every other day in the unit I rented, the infestation was so bad I would wake up to mice squeaking noises and what seemed like at least tens of rodents moving sounds through the walls/vents at 4am every day. maintenance did nothing but set two sticky traps that did absolutely nothing.

Horrible customer service. A package was delivered after I moved out of the rental apartment. After I told them I didn’t want to give my credit card to them over the phone they were extremely rude and annoyed over the fact I wanted to pick up the package. They then told me I was an inconvenience because I had to reschedule a pick up day. I have never dealt with customer service like this especially with a place so expensive. Also the apartments in Roxbury are infested with ants in the summer. There were multiple days they gave us just hours notice that people would be coming into our rooms for maintenance. Please don’t use this company, I’ve had much much better experiences elsewhere.

Do not use this company for rentals. I have had the worst experience renting with Thatch. First in early 2021 I rented a property on 383 Commonwealth Avenue, the unit was infested with mice. It was so bad that I would wake up to the sound of rodents crawling through the vents every morning around 5 and when I put a maintenance request for it they put out several sticky traps. I would often then deal with mice being stick to the sticky trap dragging itself through the studio making the most disturbing screeching noises and would have to call maintenance often to ask to get rid of the rodent in my apartment. I addressed this issue multiple times with the company, in which they responded by saying rodent issues are prevalent in Boston and it is what it is. The apartment was unlivable and the rodent issue still traumatizes me to this day. Second time I rented a co-living property in Roxbury, they gave me the code to enter the property hours late causing me to wait outside for hours in freezing weather. Third time I attempted to make a reservation through the phone-which is the sole way you can reserve from them because their website malfunctions all the time - the receptionist told me to give a call back in 5 five minutes which then turned out to be 40 minutes by then I was unable to pick up. When I called back I was disconnected multiple times and when I could finally get in touch she was rude and unprofessional and she is the only customer service rep they have. I don't know if they just gave up on this company or they don't want business genuinely but either way use them if you want the worst customer service, bare-minimum maintenance, and overpriced properties!

We stayed in unit 6 304 Newbury. Very pleasant experience during the entire stay. It was very hot during our stay. The Diakin mini splits on the walls seemed to have a very hard time keeping up with the set temperature. 68 Folks should know there’s over 40 steps and no elevator. Totally fine with us but may deter others. Our main door code did not work when we first arrived but the issue was resolved in minutes by text. The apartment is clean and comfortable. That bathroom skylight!!!! Close to many restaurants, shops, etc. We felt safe staying here. Great experience!

Booked a rental with the company 5 months in advance. They didn't send me a proper confirmation with my dates by email. Fast forward 2 months before I arrive, I by chance find out they booked me for the wrong dates, off by a month, and had rented the unit to someone else. I have email confirmation of me requesting the correct dates. First, they need a better receipt system, they sent me a receipt, but without any dates. Second, they need better diligence, even when booking, the availability of apartments different from what appeared on the website. This company seems new and likely run by recent grads. This is an opportunity for them to shape up. Will not be renting with them again.

Gave me the wrong code for the door - called their emergency line and no one responded and couldn't get in until my neighbor gave me the master code for all the locks here. Then I realized - someone has a MASTER CODE to my room and he/she doesn't work for the company? I'm a dude so I'll survive but I couldn't imagine if my girlfriend was staying here by herself. NOT SAFE AT ALL. Stay far away from these guys.

I've been living in one of Thatch's co-living apartments for four months now (in - as of May 2021 - still brand new Columbia Rd place). I can wholeheartedly recommend it: while it's certainly not the cheapest option (well, and it is Boston, after all), it's good value for money. Considering that all utilities are covered and you really don't have to worry about anything, it's a good choice for anyone looking for a well-run, well-equipped, clean, and overall pleasant and easy place to stay. Communication with Thatch has always been smooth, and they have immediately taken care of any extra requests I've made (I didn't ask for anything too fancy, though, I hope). Regarding this particular apartment on Columbia Rd, it should be noted that it is a bit off the beaten path. While everything you need is right around the corner (supermarket, takeaways, a few bars, etc.) and you can be downtown in 10 minutes on the T red line (the station is also just 2 minutes from the apartment), Dorchester itself is not a typical Boston neighborhood like you would expect from Beacon Hill or Back Bay. It tends to be a bit noisy due to the Interstate 93 freeway that runs a few feet away. Still, that wasn't too much of a problem for me.
