• Location is excellent: The Babel Community’s residences are very central in Marseille (one at Rue de la République, another near Vieux-Port / La Joliette) which means you’re within walking distance of key attractions, transport and dining. • Quality of accommodation: Many reviews highlight well-equipped apartments or rooms with kitchenettes, washing machines, good amenities, and modern design. • Community & coworking concept: The Babel Community brands itself as more than just lodging—there’s a coliving + coworking dimension (for e.g., remote workers or longer stays) with shared spaces and communal vibe. • Roof-top / common amenities: Guests appreciate the rooftop terrace and lounge spaces which add a premium feel beyond standard hotel rooms. ⸻ ⚠️ Things to keep in mind • Rooms/apartments may be small: Some reviews mention that while amenities are good, space is tight—especially if you have lots of luggage or stay longer. • Night-time noise risk: Because of the central location and proximity to busy streets or nightlife, light sleepers may experience some disturbance. • Service / maintenance concerns: While many positive comments, there are occasional notes of room maintenance issues or limited cleaning service. • Higher cost: Given the central location and premium amenities, expect prices to be above budget lodging; for long-term stays, check cost vs what you need.

Well i am reviewing this as a residential property. Living here from almost 1.5 years and experience is good enough. It’s a bit costly than the other sharing apartments but still worth for the premium services you get.. hasslefree onboarding process, everything is included, no hidden charges and all streamlined process.. recommended place for long term stays

Great atmosphere for lunch and definitely recommend the fish and chips! It’ll be my go-to place when I go to Marseille from now on!

The tapas were very delicious and the service was very friendly. They have great vegetarian options.

I was so disappointed by this bar. My Airbnb was a 5 min walk away and so I walked up and down Rue de La Republique many times during my trip to Marseille. This place always caught my eye. I liked the look of the outdoor area. The decor and the crowd looked just my kinda vibe. On my last night in Marseille I decided to treat myself and stop for drink. I wanted to sit outside, enjoy a cocktail, people watch and soak up Marseille street life before I returned to London the next day. The waiter wasn’t friendly. He looked at me with a “why are you sitting here” type of look on his face. I asked for the drinks menu. After seeing there was a happy hour on I asked for details and decided to go with a caiprinhia. It was so good! I wanted to order another except the waiter was nowhere to be found. I sat there for ages. He didn’t come check if I was okay, he didn’t come to ask if wanted another drink, whether I wanted the bill - nothing. Felt like I could have gotten up and walked away within paying. In the end the lack of service and the lack of attention put me off of ordering another drink. Let me take myself somewhere that acts like they want my custom. I went inside paid and left. A shame as the place looks great and the cocktail was good too.

We only came in for a drink and a rest on a hot Marseille day, it was quiet and a chill vibe. It's a very cool set up with the bar/restaurant and then co-working space attached. The interior design is slick, and the mojito I had was bang on, the staff were nice and next time I will come and try the food which looks great!

I reserved a table from Babel, confirmation mail arrived. When I arrived restaurant, I was told by a waitress that they had fixed menu for that day and given a piece of paper listing menu. I have never seen such a rude behaviour in my life. This is not a restaurant , it’s a bad joke. They could have informed me of what they could offer as a reply to my reservation request. If you want to spoil your night with nasty surprises, this is the right place for you.

I had a vegetable soup, which was the only vegan option, but for them to have one at all is rare in Marseille!
