The room was extremely unclean when I moved in (probably due to the pest and mould issue), there’s mould smell coming out of the aircon & bathroom vent. Since moving in I have found numerous mosquitos, cockroaches (vomit) a family of huge spiders & even a LIZARD in my room (see photos). Building management refuse to get the property pest controlled (I did a diy one myself) & tell me “this is how it is in Australia”, I’ve actually lived in Sydney my whole life & know that properties are only like this if there’s insect infestations & haven’t been pest controlled properly for a LONG time. I would give this place minus stars if I could.. I think their aim is to take advantage of foreigners who don’t know what to expect, tbh. There’s been a blue cheese smell in this whole building since arriving, even after deep cleans - which is signs of deep mould issues with the property. They haven’t tried to fix anything & have had multiple complaints, from not just me from what I hear from other tenants and I hear they just ignore the feedback (new community manager). The mould issue is the biggest concern, causing me dizziness which they are not taking seriously. Protect your health and don’t move here. They also refuse to put a fly screen on the windows or bar the holes in the property that the insects come through, which other tenants have also requested. Reading the previous reviews sounds like another world. Perhaps because there’s a different community manager who doesn’t care to do anything except bump up the rent for tenants from what I hear. I cannot speak for the accommodation itself, but the rear of the property has been leaking what appears to be sewage for months. This has never been properly fixed and my emails to UKO about this issue received no response. Instead I have contacted council once again about this. This is a public health and safety issue, not just for your paying residents but also the community. You should be embarrassed. Get your act together.

Amazing place to stay! Highly recommended! Alex the host there is such a nice person! He really cares and makes time to include everyone in the social events. He really made me feel like part of the great community that is UKO! Thank you for all your help and support during my stay!!

Increased everyone's rent during covid and plans to increase the rent again at the end of the year. Loud and noisy construction at West Ryde Train station early mornings and late into the night. Tried speaking to the agent Alex about the matter but he made it pretty obvious that he wasn't interested.

Alex was really helpful during the time when we were still there. He has been the best and the nicest host I have ever seen. I highly recommend for everyone. UKO West Ryde is the best place I have ever rented. The food is the best, the service is just like the food and the people here are nice and friendly. You can't expect more!

Living in UKO West Ryde is just pleasant in every way. Train station literally at your front door, cute shops and cafes within a few steps, and groceries and restaurants within 3 mins walk. The building and studio itself is well maintained; top notch quality. The common areas are amazing—killer rooftop that will sustain your sanity through lockdowns 😉 The “everything included in rent” also gives so much ease and convenience. Alex is an incredible host that truly has his heart for the community. In a short and sweet conclusion, living in UKO West Ryde is a joy!

Very lucky and glad to be one of the initial residents here. UKO provides everything new and tidy. Basically you don’t need to buy anything. Alex is very helpful and responsible. Strongly recommend to choose UKO as your accommodation option.
